2023 Check-in and Check-out Procedures

1. Camp buses will park in a line along the west wall of the lot.

2. Park in the middle of the lot. Walk with your child to the buses for check-in with a staff member. The staff will confer with you about the health of your child. They will ask the child how they are feeling, and have them use hand sanitizer.

3. To check-out, park your car and walk to your child's bus. You will need to check your child out from the staff.
BE SURE TO CHECK-OUT WITH A STAFF MEMBER!

WHAT ARE THE TIMES?

MORNING CAMPER DROP-OFF

8:00-8:15am (Buses depart once all campers are accounted for. PLEASE REMEMBER TO call the office or let the check-in staff know if your camper will be absent.)

AFTERNOON CAMPER PICK-UP

4:45pm-5:00pm (Departure from Camp 4:00pm)

WHAT ABOUT THURSDAY OVERNIGHTS?

On Thursday evenings, a bus will deliver all campers who are not spending the night at the same time and place as usual. On Friday mornings, a bus will pick up campers at the same time and place as usual.  Campers’ regular buses will be parked around the Flag Circle at Camp so their regular seats can be used as cubbies. All the buses return on Fridays as usual, with all the Overnighters, too.

2023 BUS SAFETY

Reserved Bus Each camper always rides on the same bus and in a seating area reserved for their group. Your child's bus may also have seating areas for two more groups close in school grade level and in the same program.

Reserved Seat Campers each have their own seat on their own bus in order to keep groups together and to keep the seat reserved for your child's personal belongings. Campers may share a seat with one another camper if legal guardians of both children have pre-authorized them to do so regardless of vaccination status. These campers need to be close in grade level, and in the same program.

Personal Cubby Once in Camp, buses will be centrally parked and accessible throughout the day. Each camper’s bus seat will be their “personal cubby” for keeping their belongings separate from others.

Bus Pod Explorer camper groups of 10-12 will ride on their bus with another group or groups also in their same program. These campers form a "Bus Pod". The groups of older campers - Explorers, Mountaineers, and CITs - may all ride together on one bus.

Air Circulation on Buses The windows will be down for air circulation, so be sure your camper brings layers of clothing to wear for warmth. Everyone needs a warm jacket every day, no matter how hot it is in Boulder!

BUS DRIVERS AND STAFF

All drivers are safety-trained and experienced in their vehicle for city driving and on the Sunshine Canyon mountain route to Gold Hill. The full-size buses are driven by licensed CDL Drivers who are members of our own staff. Two more staff members ride along to entertain and interact with the campers.
