Staff Schedule
Here is what to expect as a staff member of the Ranch!
Monday-Friday Camp Day Schedule
5:30am -
6:30am
Work Crew: Expect 1-2 hours to prep for the Camp Day.
Kitchen Crew - prepares breakfast & sack lunches. Cleans the kitchen/dining area.
Corral Crew - feeds, grooms, and tacks up horses.
Bus Crew - goes to Boulder to pick up the Campers.
Upkeep/Other Crews - Cleans and preps for the day.
6:15am -
7:15am
Staff Breakfast Buffet
9:00am
All staff (except wranglers) attend flag raising for songs, warm-ups & attendance.
First Western Rider Group meets Wranglers at the Corral.
9:30am
Counselors meet with their groups for snacks and goal-setting.
Instructors go to their activity areas to prep.
9:45am
First Activity

Counselors eat outdoors with their group.
Activity Instructors eat and supervise the outdoor lunch areas.

Counselor break time. Open-play time for the Campers supervised by Activity Instructors.

Counselors lead a “group talk” about the day.

All staff (including at least one wrangler) and Campers gather around the flag-pole for “Epic Moments”.

Flag Lowering

Corral Crew - feeds, grooms, and un-tacks horses. Medical needs are taken care of at this time as well.
Bus Crew - goes to Boulder to drop-off the Campers.
Upkeep/Other Crews - Cleans and preps for the next day.

Friday Afternoon Schedule
2:00pm
Counselors hold group-time for reflection about the week. They hand out awards to all Campers in their group.
2:30pm
All staff (including one wrangler) and Campers gather around the flagpole one last time. Awards are presented from all of the activity instructors.

Flag Lowering

Work Crew and "Whirlwind" cleaning session begins.
6:00pm

Monday-Friday Camp Activities
Most Activities are led by Activity Instructors with assistance from the Counselors. Some Activities are Counselor led. Activity Times can be combined if the activity needs more time to focus on certain projects.

Saturday Schedule Flexibility & Time-off
We keep Saturdays reserved for hosted events such as weddings and corporate team-building. We also utilize this day for Ranch projects, preparing for the coming week, and weekly staff meetings. Please plan to be open to all kinds of different tasks on Saturday. Since we are a Day Camp for children and a residential Camp for staff most time-off is generally at the same time for the whole team.
