COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS

To avoid exposure to disease, the Colorado Mountain Ranch family, staff, and policies all follow the guidelines as outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Colorado State Orders, and the State and Boulder County Health Departments.  Family Fun activities take place outdoors in the open air and sunshine.  Group numbers are limited to your own participants (up to eight in your family pod) with two of our staff members, all wearing masks and social distancing.  All equipment is disinfected between groups.  Staff members are in residence at the Ranch as a family.  Regular temperature and health checks, masking, and social distancing are all part of daily life.

FAMILY FUN

AT COLORADO MOUNTAIN RANCH!

ESCAPE TO THE MOUNTAINS

Get outside in the fresh air and sunshine!

Let the Colorado Mountain Ranch be your host this Fall 2020 for Family Fun with At Home with Horses! Break up the school and work week and stick together for some safe outdoor fun in the mountains.

Mike and Lynn Walker will introduce your family to the magic of CMR!  If your children have been to camp here, this program offers a way for them to stay connected to their special place in the mountains, and to share that experience with their family. If you’re new to the Colorado Mountain Ranch, come discover what we and the horses are all about!

At Home with Horses

COST

$350 / 2 Hour Session-for up to 8 people - Suitable for ages 5+

Your experience with At Home with Horses will help you and your family members become comfortable with horses by understanding that fear of the big animals is natural and that an understanding of how they think and behave can help you build relationships with them.  You and your family will build relationships by making friends with horses from the ground. You may comfortably walk among the horses and connect with them and the others in your group.  Let the insight and fun begin! Your family members can then strengthen bonds with horses and among yourselves.

(Note:  This experience allows your family to spend time with horses, but does not include riding.)

SESSION TIMES

9:30am-11:30am, 1-3pm, 3:30-5:30pm

All Sessions are two hours long. Please let us know in advance if you are bringing a picnic for an outdoor lunch after your morning session or plan to arrive at noon for a picnic before your 1:00 session.

  • Deposit and Balance: Your Family Fun session requires a non-refundable yet transferable $50 deposit. Your payment balance will be charged the day of your experience.

  • Credit in your CMR account? For those who paid fees for 2020 Colorado Mountain Ranch Summer Camp, your credit can be applied to the cost of the At Home with Horses Family Fun program.  We will remove the $50 deposit from the credit in your 2020 account at the time of registration. The balance will be transferred from your CMR 2020 Summer Camp credit on the day of your experience.

TESTIMONIALS

“We had an amazing time…You and your staff were exceptionally welcoming, positive and helpful, with each kid getting individual attention…Your intention and values really come through in the space, animals and the community you all have built… the kids were daydreaming about working at the ranch one day too : )”

S. C., Community Group Leader

Lynn, Mike and Athena: thank you so much for such an informative, gently paced introduction to horses through the At Home with Horses… opportunity. Learning about horse behavior, their temperament and intentions as animals was the missing link to make me feel less scared and more confident with them. I appreciated getting to know some of your horses up close: their quirks and personalities as you described them. My guided time in the ring grooming, haltering and completing exercises with Flash was satisfying and comforting. Hannah attended camp the past two summers, but I had never been to the ranch, and was pleased to be able to take advantage of a wonderful opportunity as an adult and parent.

Sincerely, Sarah Peapples Camper Parent
